This was a Brave Strides project from my own wardrobe for a pair of ‘blank slate’ heels that were a target for something really different. I hand painted each of the shoes in this pair differently to create some drama and kept the pattern to the front part of the shoe which is firmer and therefore gets better results with this technique.
The patterns both alternate a dark blue, sky blue and silver with the rest of the shoe remaining the original white. I think they would make a great wedding shoe design as a ‘something blue’ peeking out from under a voluminous white skirt.
While the process is painstaking the results are worth it when the final sealer is applied and you get to experience the full impact of the hours of careful painting that result in a one of a kind pair of shoes that definitely make a statement.
